They interrogated Vasil Bozhkov for several hours at the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office.
It is unclear whether an arrest warrant will be sought, his lawyer said.
After Vasil Bozhkov was taken from Sofia Airport, he was taken to the investigative custody of “G.M. Dimitrov”, and then examined at the Ministry of Internal Affairs hospital. However, he did not want extensive examinations, so the procedure there ended quickly.
Charges were brought against him in the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office. He remained silent during the interrogations. It is about possible crimes related to murders and the assassination attempt against Aleksey Petrov in 2015.
It is not yet clear what measure of remand will be imposed on him, it may not be detention behind bars, according to his defense.
The decision for Bozhkov to go home today was described by his lawyer Georgi Gatev as a coincidence, but it was not said in plain text who the “clubs” were, which Bozhkov wrote about earlier on his Facebook profile.
“At the moment, they have only presented him with the orders to attract him as an accused. According to one of the cases, which we call criminal – there are the cases with criminal offenses, and the other is related to gambling”, stated Georgi Gatev.

“The colleagues promised that tomorrow they will try to submit the cases for consideration in a court session with a view to determining a measure,” said lawyer Gatev.
He was also served with a summons in the pre-trial proceedings in which he was a witness. “It will be seen how it will proceed further. First, we will see if there will be detention or not,” said Georgi Gatev.
“Basically, it doesn’t give an explanation. He used the right not to give an explanation now, but at a later stage he himself will decide whether to give it or not,” said Gatev.
“He was examined, but very superficially, because he did not express his desire to be examined there,” said his lawyer.
