International Criminal Court Investigates Kahouka Dam Collapse and Russian War Crimes in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the International Criminal Court had opened an investigation into the collapse of the Kahouka dam in Kherson province that caused massive flooding.

President Zelensky said in a video address on the 11th local time that “a delegation from the International Criminal Court has visited the Kherson region in recent days.”

He added, “The day after the disaster, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine forwarded a request to the International Criminal Court for an investigation, and work has already begun.”

President Zelensky also criticized, “Russian terrorists continue to bombard evacuation routes, evacuation points and boats carrying people.” “Even animals will be more moral than you.”

Local authorities in Ukraine said Russian forces shelled a lifeboat carrying 21 refugees, killing three and wounding 10 others.

The evacuees were evacuating to safe areas in the Russian-occupied region of Kherson, which was submerged in water, and it is known that most of them were elderly people.
