The commune of Niangoloko, like other communes in our country, is also impacted by the terrorist threat which has led to massive displacements of populations from different villages towards the town of Niangoloko. This situation resulted in a deficit agricultural season during the past season, resulting in 15,000 people who would be under threat of food crisis if action is not taken. Also, the special municipal delegation of Nangoloko decided to provide them with support. It is with this in mind that she offered food to internally displaced people.
The beneficiaries’ spokesperson, Moumouni Porgo, expressed their gratitude to people of good will, to the special municipal delegation and also to the FDS. He says he is proud, because since they left their respective localities because of insecurity, the population of Niangoloko has always accompanied them. He also asked people of good will to always pay attention to internally displaced people.
Wend-Kuuni Bernadette Marie Reine Yaméogo/Belem is Regional Director in charge of Cascades Humanitarian Action. “I would first like to thank the special municipal delegation of Niangoloko for this gesture of solidarity, for this food assistance to the internal populations of the commune. And also convey our gratitude to them and that of the ministry in general,” she said. The distribution of food will be ensured by the municipal social service under the supervision of the PDS which is the president of CODESUR, specified the Regional Director in charge of Humanitarian Action.
Speaking, the president of the special delegation from the commune of Niangoloko, Ousséni Ouédraogo, welcomed everyone. For him, it is in response to this difficult food situation that the special delegation was kind enough to grant food assistance to the most vulnerable of its populations. “It is therefore with pleasure that the Departmental Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (CODESUR) of Niangoloko welcomes this food assistance,” explained PDS Ousséni Ouédraogo. He took this opportunity to appeal to all economic operators in his municipality to make their contribution to the management of this difficult food crisis. He also made special mention of the fighting forces for their efforts on the ground.
