Inter Milan’s Robin Gosens Joins Union Berlin, Becomes Most Expensive Player in Club History

Milan

Inter Milan let go Robin Gosens the Union Berlin. Gosens joined Union Berlin by breaking the club transfer.

Inter announced Gosens’ move to Union Berlin via the club’s official website, Tuesday (16/8/2023). The 29-year-old full-back has a five-year contract with the German capital club until 2028.

Union Berlin reportedly had to spend 13 million euros to bring Gosens back to Germany. This made Gosens the most expensive player in Union history.

Gosens joined Union Berlin after a season and a half at Inter. Previously, he performed well with Atalanta to attract Inter’s interest in recruiting him.

But at Inter, Gosens struggled to become an option for The Snake’s left sector. He played more often as a substitute last season. Gosens made a total of 58 appearances for Inter and contributed five goals.

The man born in Emmerich did not hesitate to accept Union Berlin’s proposal because the club has very good prospects after being promoted to the Bundesliga in 2019. Union Berlin will play in the Champions League this season after finishing fourth in the 2022/2023 Bundesliga.

“I’ve always said that it’s my dream to play in Germany and the Bundesliga one day. “The last few years at Union have been impressive, and people abroad have noticed that. I felt a lot of appreciation and trust in the talks with club officials, so the decision wasn’t difficult for me. Now I’m looking forward to new challenges and an extraordinary and exciting season,” Gosens said as quoted from Union Berlin’s website.
