LIVERPOOL Inter Milan eliminated from Champions League 2021-2022. Inter Milan coach, Simone Inzaghi, was also in the spotlight for not playing his star player, Edin Dzeko, against Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 2021-2022.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan, who tried to equalize on aggregate, could not score an additional goal. Inzaghi, who is famous for changing players when he gets a yellow card, also explained why he didn’t attract Sanchez. The Italian coach has no regrets about his decision.

“Absolutely not (sorry), because at that moment I needed Sanchez on the pitch and would not change him on a night like this,” said Inzaghi, quoted by Football Italia, Wednesday (9/3/2022).

In addition, Inzaghi is also considered not serious about equalizing the aggregate because he does not play Edin Dzeko. The 45-year-old coach said Dzeko was being prepared for the match against Torino.

“I had some fitness issues and it was down to 10 men. Hakan Calhanoglu is tired, (Edin) Dzeko will be very important in Turin, so I have to make other calculations,” said Inzaghi.

“I’m not trying to protect 1-0, I’m trying to keep the balance until the end so we can win it in set play. The regret is Sanchez, because Liverpool were completely shaken by Lautaro’s goal and I want to see what happens after that.”

Meanwhile, in the future, the Nerazzurri will return to compete in the Italian League 2021-2022. Inzaghi troops will visit Torino headquarters on Monday 14 March 2022.
