The fine was for not providing adequate security for the first leg of the April 3 game at Chase Stadium, Miami’s home ground. However, the authorities have not disclosed the amount of the fine. After Inter Miami’s loss, there were untoward incidents at the stadium.
Miami lost 2-1 in the match and lost 3-1 in the away match in Mexico. The committee has warned Inter Miami officials that they will face more severe action if the incidents repeat themselves in future matches.
