Intel takes back shares from AMD on Steam

Last month’s hardware survey conducted on the Steam platform showed that AMD is still continuing to squeeze shares from Intel on the processor side. However, the latest survey shows that the situation has changed in Intel’s favor.

Valve has now published the hardware survey that was conducted on their platform Steam in June. While the penultimate survey showed that AMD held just over 30% of Steam users’ processors, Intel has now taken back what they lost.

When Valve published the figures for the survey conducted in May, AMD held 30.13 percent of the platform’s processors. Which meant an increase of over one percent compared to the previous survey. An increase that has now been annihilated in the last month. According to the latest survey, Intel is over 71.5 percent.

Exactly what is behind these changes is difficult to say. Not all Steam users participate in these surveys. A potential explanation for Intel’s increase may also be that Intel in particular has managed to handle the current component shortage better than AMD, which relies on third-party players for manufacturing.
