Intel has terminated a paid warranty program for overclockers

Almost 10 years ago, Intel introduced overclockers to pay extra for a guarantee for overclocking their CPU. After paying a certain amount, the overclocker was sure that when his processor was removed to the silicon sky during overclocking, Intel would send him a new piece. This was at a time when great Sandy Bridge processors were on the market and the future seemed bright.

Tento Performance Tuning Protection Plan (PTPP) now ended on March 1, 2021. Existing subscribers to this program have everything retained until the end of the CPU warranty period. The only exception is the Xeon W-3175X, for which Intel automatically provides a guarantee for overclocking with the purchase – it is an exceptional 28-core Xeon generation Skylake with an unlocked multiplier, which Intel introduced two years ago, whose TDP is 255 W (practically no longer available, its however, the price was above CZK 100,000).
