A top-class team of lecturers conveyed current topics relating to the insurance sector, and questions relating to “Covid-19 and insurance law” also played an important role. Around 640 insurance brokers and consultants in insurance matters from all over Austria took part. The advanced training event was broadcast to all federal states in the form of a “webinar day”. Technical questions from the audience could also be answered in a “Q&A” between the moderators and the speakers after the presentations.
Welcome and process
KommR Christoph Berghammer, MAS, chairman of the professional association of insurance brokers, welcomed the event participants on behalf of the professional association. The moderation of the Education Day 2020 was shared by the professional association and the professional group of insurance brokers in Vienna, represented by FV managing director Mag. Erwin Gisch and FG chairman KommR Helmut Mojescick. The technical implementation and support was carried out by Verlag Österreich, known for its literature on all questions relating to insurance law.

Univ.-Prof. Spoke about “COVID-19 & current insurance law issues”. Dr. Stefan PERNER from the Institute for Civil and Corporate law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
In his lecture, attorney Mag. Markus FREILINGER from the law firm Freilinger Michalek explained the problem of “pitfalls in brokerage agreements with insurers”. Furthermore, Mag. Martin PICHLER, attorney in Vienna, contributed his expertise in relation to the “legal aspects of digital insurance sales”. Mag. Christian PRANTNER from the Vienna Chamber of Labor made an important contribution to the interpretation of the sales guideline with his lecture “Consumer protection aspects of IDD”.
In the afternoon, Mag. Philip MACHAT, from Douglas-Machat & CIE. GmbH provide an insight into “Insurance of high-quality individual items – needs recognition and suitable concepts”. Arno SLEPICE from business-point consulting & vorsorge GmbH gave a presentation on “Company Pension Plans – Law & Practice”. Finally, KommR Rudolf MITTENDORFER from VERAG Versicherungsmakler GmbH dealt with the “impact of economic crises on the insurance world”.
