Insubria grew and the number of medical specialists doubled

The students of the Insubria University of Varese and Como returned to the classroom. One year after the university closes due to the health emergency, the first year students of the three-year and master’s degree courses returned to class, with masks and distance between the desks.

The gradual return to normality is governed by a rigorous safety protocol: before entering the classrooms, the temperature is measured and, through an App, it is possible to reserve one’s seat. Furthermore, it is expected that even in the case of the orange zone, lessons can always continue at 50%.

A report from the Tgr by Paola Colombo, broadcast this morning in the 7 and 3o edition of Buongiorno Regione and in rerun during the evening news, told the restart of the Varese university. “I’m happy to be back on the benches, this reality was very missing”, says Francesca Cisotto, student of Communication Sciences and Techniques.

In this year of distance learning, up to ten thousand students connected every month were registered. An experience in many ways difficult, but which also allowed us to discover new ways of teaching and organizing, as well as underlined by the Rector Angelo Tagliabue in the interview with the TGR: “The Dad has allowed us to save on the environment, greater decision-making dynamism and a good solution has been found for many educational activities”.

In such a particular year, an increase in members is underlined, up to 1% in medical faculties. Distance lessons in this sector are particularly difficult, as two students, Mauro Voltina and Matilde Diotallevi have told, but the will has never stopped. In fact, the number of medical specialists almost doubled during the health emergency.
