When asked to comment on the information published on Twitter, the head of “LKOM” Miķelis Isajevs explained that the company is tracking and checking the batch of the product, which is suspected to be damaged. Inspections are carried out when the product is purchased in stores and stored according to the product’s storage conditions, trying to determine the cause of the damage. He also mentions that each bottle has its own traceability – when it has been produced and sold, and if someone has not followed the storage rules during the distribution of the product, it is possible that the product may start to spoil as a result.

Also, the head of the company said – if the product is kept in heat for a long time, it expands and ferments, as a result of which it can also explode. Therefore, the company invites buyers to carefully familiarize themselves with the instructions for use and storage of the product provided by the manufacturer in order to avoid damage to the product. Isaev noted that cases have also been observed in the production process of the product, where such incidents can occur when the bottle is in heat for a long time, so it must be stored in the cold.

In 2022, “LKOM” worked with a turnover of 480,203 euros and a profit of 53,096 euros, according to “Firmas.lv” information. Financial data for 2023 have not yet been published.

The company was registered in 2014, and its share capital is 5,800 euros. “LKOM” is engaged in brewing natural, unfiltered kombucha drink. The sole owner of the company is Miķelis Isajevs.
