JAKARTA – Instagram today announced a new way to make it easier for users to contact business account owners via WhatsApp directly from the Instagram application. As the first country in Asia Pacific to get this feature, business people in Indonesia can now connect their WhatsApp number to their business’s Instagram profile.

“We recognize that many businesses are using Instagram as a virtual storefront, and WhatsApp as the final gateway to build further chat around products with customers to drive sales,” he continued. Previously, Instagram users had to manually enter the WhatsApp business number listed on the business Instagram profile.

There are several steps that businesses can take to take advantage of these features. First, add a Whatsapp button to the business Instagram profile, then visit the business account page, then select Edit Profile. Next, select the contact option, and add the WhatsApp number.
After that, enter the authentication code received, then the Instagram business account will be automatically connected to the WhatsApp account. To unlink an Instagram account with WhatsApp via the WhatsApp application, open Business Features and select Settings, then tap on linked accounts, then select Instagram and tap Unlink.
