Hugo López-Gatell, Undersecretary of Health, reported that 23 states joined the Institute of Health for Welfare (Insabi), while nine entities decided not to sign; however, he said that of these, four have an agreement with IMSS Welfare.

“23 states clearly got engaged and adhered to Insabi and nine other states did not, however, we removed them from the list in the middle because we have the IMSS Welfare,” he said.

In the weekly summary of The Pulse of Health, which takes place at the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the official explained that there are five entities that will not have any federal support, which are Aguascalientes, Baja California Sur, Guanajuato, Jalisco and Nuevo León.

“In the middle column are the states where there will be no federal government participation and because the state governments decided not to join.”

Yesterday, the Institute for Welfare Health reported in a statement on the 23 states have signed the coordination agreement and that only nine will remain in talks.

Among what remain as an opposition block to Insabi for the disappearance of Popular Insurance, are the Association of National Action Governors (GOAN) composed of Baja California Sur, Aguascalientes, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Guanajuato and Tamaulipas, but joined the block opponent Jalisco, Michoacán and Nuevo León.
