INOV’s Net Profit Soared 197.1 Percent yoy To Rp7.9 Billion

Beritamu.co.idPT Inocycle Technology Group Tbk (IDX: INOV), an issuer engaged in the recycling of plastic bottle waste (PET) into Recycled Polyester Staple Fiber (RePSF), posted a positive performance in Semester I-2021, where the Company managed to record sales of Rp305.4 billion, an increase of 29.8% compared to the same period the previous year of Rp235.2 billion.

Meanwhile net profit soared 197.1% yoy to Rp7.9 billion from minus Rp8.1 billion recorded in the same period the previous year.

Victor Choi, as Director of INOV said that this achievement was supported by improving prices recycle Polyester Staple Fiber (re-PSF) global.

“We are grateful that we were able to record a better performance in Semester I-2021 even though economic conditions were still disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. This achievement cannot be separated from the increasing public awareness, especially in Indonesia, in consuming recycled products. It is hoped that this trend will continue, so that we can improve together recycle rate so that Indonesia can reduce the waste that is thrown into the sea,” said Victor in a press statement, Monday (23/8).

The Company’s performance in Semester I-2021 was dominated by sales of fiber products (Re-PSF) of Rp209.3 billion, which grew 23.1% yoy. Then followed by sales of non-woven products (non woven) which grew quite significantly, reaching 60.7% yoy to Rp65.4 billion, as well as sales of household furniture products (homeware) amounted to Rp30.0 billion which grew by 24.9% compared to the same period the previous year.

Victor continued, in order to secure the supply of raw materials to increase production, the Company through its subsidiary ‘Plasticpay’ (PT Plasticpay Teknologi Daurulang) continues to intensify the installation of plastic bottle collection facilities or Mini Collection Point (MCP) in various areas in Tangerang and Jabodetabek.

Currently, Plasticpay already has as many as 276 MCP units, and will continue to grow to collect more bottled waste directly from its users.

“We continue to support the efforts made by Plasticpay in educating the public and collecting plastic bottle waste directly from its users. Hopefully, we can process more plastic bottle waste in the future. This is also in line with INOV’s production which can be used as raw materials for various types of industries, ranging from automotive, construction, agriculture, infrastructure, clothing & household appliances. Thus, the Company is optimistic that until the end of the year it can maintain a positive performance even though it must still consider the impact of the ongoing pandemic,” concluded Victor.
