Ideas 4 Wood: International wood ideas competition
Ideas 4 Wood is an international creative competition for college students and designers, regardless of age or nationality. The TABU company supporting the competition is a leader in the field of wood staining. The company is headquartered in northern Italy and mainly produces natural dyed veneers, technical veneers and a range of textured wood veneers. At the same time, Carpanelli, a leading brand in furniture manufacturing, is the main partner of the Ideas 4 Wood competition.
Over the years, the Ideas 4 Wood competition has aimed to deepen the understanding of wood, emphasize the importance of wood as a renewable material, and promote industry education through the influence of the competition. The competition itself is not just about rewarding creativity, but also about encouraging sustainable planning of wood for the benefit of future generations.
2023/2024 Design Categories
Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in the following design categories:
-Technical veneer
– Industrial inlay design (whether designing on natural dyed veneer or technical veneer)
– 3D wooden surface design
– Modern wainscoting surface design
– wooden floor
– Furniture design (with a chance to win the Carpanelli Award)
The newly created “BEST PROJECT” category will be open to professionals: in this category, participants have the opportunity to submit up to two interior architecture and furniture projects. These projects must feature Tabu veneers or the latest generation of Tabu veneers (including built-ins, reliefs, Skeens Tabu veneers and flooring). The implementation time of all participating projects must start on January 1, 2020.
