Inmates and a dozen prison guards tested positive

The coronavirus was invited to the Ziguinchor Detention and Correction Center in southern Senegal. The situation reports the contamination of inmates and a dozen prison guards, all tested positive.

On the side of the management of the prison administration, officials say that an investigation is open to find out how the disease entered the prison. For the moment, no new measures have been taken, according to the newspaper L’Observateur which specifies that the same measures are maintained.

These measures, although strict, have points of vulnerability with the continuity of detention warrants, the continuation of hearings and the departures of the staff of the prison administration, still on leave.
