Ingebjørg Bratland: – I felt both weak and nauseous

Currently an artist Ingebjørg Bratland (32) look at the screen in “Whenever we meet”.

The Vinje woman has released a number of songs, including the famous Christmas song “Jul i svingen”.

For the Christmas calendar, Odd Nordstoga (50) also provided the music, and the duo also toured together with the folk music project “Heimefrå” in 2013.

Shortly after, Bratland received a phone call explaining why he was feeling ill during the tour.

Called little Christmas Eve

TO VG Bratland tells us that the diet during “Heimafrå” consisted of bread, at Nordstoga’s suggestion.

While Nordstoga and the rest of the musicians were thrilled and excited, the 32-year-old’s form got worse and worse.

– I was both weak and nauseous and had stomach problems, but I didn’t think it could have anything to do with the food.

Before the Christmas holidays, the artist had blood tests at the doctor. She was referred for both colonoscopy and gastroscopy.

Dagbladet has been trying to get in touch with Ingebjørg Bratland, so far without success.

As the Bratland family sat down at the table on Christmas Eve, ready to eat a delicious Christmas meal, the 32-year-old’s phone rang.

– He came from the hospital. The doctor could tell that I had celiac disease.

Since then, the Bratland family’s Christmas meals have been gluten-free in keeping with the artist.

– I usually say I got celiac disease from Odd Nordstoga for Christmas, says Bratland before clarifying that celiac disease is an autoimmune disease, and therefore not contagious.

– Easy to worry about the appearance

For Dagbladet, Bratland has previously opened on celiac disease.

– It took a long time for me to realize what was wrong. In the end I guessed it, but I didn’t want to do anything about it. The food intolerance made me lose weight and I enjoyed it, she said at the time, but she denied it had anything to do with the eating disorder.

– It’s easy to worry a lot about looks in this industry. After all, you are always shaped both on and off stage. It’s very tiring.
