IKEA will increase prices by an average of 9 percent worldwide in 2022, reports the CNN television portal. Polish customers have already noticed that for some products the price increase is several dozen percent. “The increase in purchase and transport costs related to the turmoil in logistics and the prices of raw materials is of such an order that price increases are inevitable” – explains IKEA.

IKEA said that due to disruptions in supply chains and an increase in the cost of raw materials, prices in its stores around the world will increase by an average of 9%.

“Now that inflation is affecting the global economy, we need to pass some costs on to our customers,” Tolga Öncü, IKEA Retail’s manager of retail operations, said in a statement quoted by CNN.

Price increases have not escaped the attention of Polish IKEA customers. The “INGATORP” folding table in the 2021 catalog cost PLN 999, currently customers have to spend PLN 1099 on it. The popular “STRANDMON” wing chair went up from PLN 799 to PLN 849.

Tolga Öncü assured that the concern is trying to mitigate for customers the effects of disruptions in supply chains affecting the increase in prices. – We want to include in the prices for customers any savings that we manage to make – he emphasized.
