If they had run a higher risk of being infected, they were invited to get tested. Almost all results are now known. Seven out of 95 people who were tested tested positive. “Just under 7 percent of people who got tested tested positive. These people now remain in the usual 7-day isolation and are thus contacted by the contact investigation to inform their contact persons as well, ”says Joris Moonens, spokesperson for Care and Health.

“In high-risk contacts, we usually see a positivity ratio of 12 to 15 percent, which is fortunately a lot lower here. Thanks to the quick and accurate action of the medical expert of the primary care zone, assisted by the GP circle, the local administration and our own contact investigation, we succeeded in informing the doctor’s contacts and having them tested at very short notice. The number of infections has remained limited and we can thus close this minor outbreak and restore peace to Kruisem. ”
