Infection in a company in the Novojičín region. We have problems with commuters, sounds from the region

“The source is probably commuters crossing the border back and forth. Let’s hope that it will not have a significant effect on the number of infected people, “said the Moravian-Silesian governor Ivo Vondrák (YES). According to 23 infected people, the company producing car headlights increased on Monday.

The director of the Regional Hygiene Station in Ostrava, Pavla Svrčinová, confirmed that commuters are an increasing problem. “That is why we have taken extraordinary measures in recent days that companies employing these people will have them examined, otherwise they must prevent them from entering the workplace,” she pointed out.

In addition to Varroc, the hygienists also record the infection in other companies in the Moravian-Silesian Region. There are supposed to be five companies, mainly from the Ostrava and Novojičín regions, where there are large industrial zones and large plants. “But we also have a positive commuter from Bruntál,” Svrčinová added, adding that the infection also appeared among KES employees in Vratimov near Ostrava.

“But there we will only pass information to Poland, because the company complies with all measures, the only weak point is the transport of employees to work from Poland by pick-up buses,” she outlined.

The Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, Ivo Vondrák, asked the government to deploy an army during comprehensive testing in the region. The soldiers should help next week, when 6,000 OKD employees should be tested. The government will discuss it at Monday’s session.
