Previously, it was reported that the corruption case of PT Indosat Mega Media (IM2) was continuing. Rp 1.3 trillion was set as compensation for state losses in this case. However, since 2015 the Attorney General’s Office has not executed the replacement money.

The Society for Law Care has also filed a lawsuit to the South Jakarta District Court with case no. 92/Pid.Pra/2021/PN JKT.SEL for this matter. In the lawsuit, the Attorney General’s Office was asked to immediately execute the compensation for state losses to Indosat.

PT MNC Sekuritas Senior Equity Research Analyst Victoria Venny said that now is the right time for PT Indosat Ooredoo to be able to resolve all legal cases that occurred in IM2.

Besides Indosat will merge with Hutchison 3 Indonesia (H3I), currently the finances of the second largest telecommunications operator in Indonesia are in a very good and profitable condition.

“I am very sure that Indosat is able to pay a replacement money of Rp 1.3 trillion to the State Treasury at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia as a result of the Court’s decision which has permanent legal force,” said Venny in his statement, Sunday (10/24/2021).
