“Indonesian Table Tennis Athlete David Jacobs Dies at 45 After Collapsing at Train Station”

Liputan6.com, Jakarta- Sad news came to the world of Indonesian sports on Friday April 28 2023. Table tennis athlete David Jacobs died at the age of 45 after collapsing at a train station.

The departure of David Jacobs was announced by the DKI Jakarta National Paralympic Committee (NPC) on Friday morning via Instagram. David Jacobs also happens to be chairman of the NPC DKI Jakarta.

“My deepest condolences for his passing. Mr. Dian David Michael Jacobs (Chairman of the NPC DKI Jakarta). May all his devotion and acts of worship be accepted by God Almighty. May the family left behind be blessed with strength, consolation and patience. Amen,” said the NPC DKI Jakarta statement.

When he was about to return to Solo, Central Java, by taking the train, David Jacobs suddenly fainted at the station on Thursday (27/4/2023) evening WIB. David Jacobs was immediately rushed to Husada Hospital for treatment. But David Jacobs was pronounced dead at 4 o’clock this morning.

“Still there now, waiting for the family from Solo to arrive, still on the way,” said Secretary General of PTMSI DKI Jakarta Arifin Thahir in a WhatsApp message to the media crew.
