Coach Shin Tae Yong have faith Indonesian National team will win over Thailand in the second leg of the 2021 (2020) AFF Cup final at the National Stadium, Saturday (1/1).
The Indonesian national team needs a big win with a five-goal margin over Thailand if they want to win the AFF Cup for the first time. This tough challenge needs to be met after the Garuda Squad lost 0-4 in the first leg.
In a press conference ahead of the AFF Cup second leg final, Shin Tae Yong said he could not promise a landslide victory. However, the South Korean coach’s conscience stated that Indonesia could win over the War Elephant.
“I believe that tomorrow’s match will be won,” said Shin Tae Yong when asked about his thoughts about the victory over Thailand in the second leg of the AFF Cup final.
The 51-year-old coach also revealed a number of factors that made it difficult for the Red and White Team to provide resistance to Thailand in the first leg final.
The young age of the players and minimal flight hours in competitive events are a number of main factors for Indonesia to lose competitiveness with Alexandre Polking’s team.

“Indeed, many of our players were tensed because of the results of the first leg,” said Shin Tae Yong.
“Players lack experience so the results are like yesterday,” said Shin Tae Yong added.
The former South Korean national team coach at the 2018 World Cup did not deny that Thailand is a stronger team than Indonesia, so that it deserves to be the flagship of the AFF Cup champion.
Even so, Shin Tae Yong is also not afraid even though he has ammunition for young players in the top party of the AFF Cup later.
“For tomorrow’s match, my thoughts and that of the players are the same: can win,” Shin Tae Yong emphasized.
