Trial match Indonesia vs East Timor was planned to be attended by the audience. However, this failed to happen after confirmation was obtained in the conference ahead of the match.
Indonesia vs Timor Leste took place at I Wayan Dipta, Gianyar, Bali, Thursday (27/1/2022) local time. The organizers initially opened online ticket sales and the quota was 25 percent of the stadium’s capacity.
Ticket prices are sold in the range of Rp. 75 thousand to Rp. 250 thousand. The stands that are opened are the north, south, north wing, south wing, east, south of the disabled area, and VIP stands.
Well, in a press conference ahead of the match at the Trans Hotel Seminyak, Bali, Wednesday (26/1/2022), the coach Shin Tae-yong was asked by reporters regarding the presence of the audience. The coach of the Indonesian national team welcomed it very well.
“In this regard, I am really grateful. This pandemic situation is all over the world. The Indonesian League does not yet have spectators, for this match, even though it is not full,” said Shin Tae-yong.
“I’m very happy to be with the fans. Thank you PSSI and the Indonesian government for giving permission. I hope the Indonesian League can also be attended by spectators so that the quality increases. I will do my best so as not to frustrate the fans.”
After answering these questions, representatives of the media team from PSSI provided an update that the match could not be attended by spectators. Shin Tae-yong immediately grabbed his head.
“We have to comply with the protocols here. We have all seen spectators at AFF (2020) Singapore. In my own country there are spectators and leagues in Europe as well,” Shin Tae-yong responded.
“Actually, there is no problem with the audience entering by following the protocol. However, it’s a bit sad because I just heard that the audience couldn’t enter,” the South Korean man emphasized.
The Indonesian national team midfielder, Evan Dimas, was also sad that there were no spectators. However, he assured the players to remain ready even if there were no spectators.
“Of course football matches are more exciting with fans. It can’t be helped, we have to follow health protocols because the situation is not possible. With or without spectators, you have to focus,” he said.
