Indonesia takes a firm step towards modernizing its defense with the incorporation of advanced guided munitions from the firm Safran Electronic & Defense.

Historic agreement with Safran Electronic & Defense

The Indonesian Ministry of Defense recently established a pact for the purchase of smart ammunition AASM HAMMER con Safran Electronic & Defense. The ceremony, held at the Ministry’s main headquarters, was attended by General Mohammad Fadjar and Andrea Bianchini, representative of Safran. Characteristics of AASM HAMMER ammunition

The AASM HAMMER is a precision guided munition, designed by Safran Electronics & Defense. Composed of a guide kit and a range extender, it is adaptable to different types of pumps and guidance units.

The standard version includes a 250 kg bomb and an INS/GPS navigation system. There are variants with infrared or laser guidance and with different bomb loads.

Its debut on the battlefield was in 2007, equipping combat aircraft Dassault Rafale y Mirage 2000. In February 2022, Indonesia confirmed an order for 42 Rafale F4further strengthening its air fleet.
