Hardik Pandya is leading Team India today in the absence of skipper Rohit Sharma. Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer has selected India’s potential team ahead of the much-awaited match across the cricket world.

In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Wasim Jaffer has chosen Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill, who is in brilliant form, as the openers for the Indian team in the first ODI. Star opener Virat Kohli is the team’s number three batsman. He included Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul and skipper Hardik Pandya in the middle order, while Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar were selected as spin bowling all-rounders.
Jaffer’s move to pick Washington Sundar in the XI despite having a senior all-rounder like Axar Patel in the squad is a bit of a surprise to cricket lovers. Fans also say that Aksar should have been replaced by Sunder.
At the same time, Jaffer selects Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj as pace bowlers for the Indian team in the first ODI. He also pointed to Kuldeep Yadav as the only specialist spinner in the XI.
