India banned 59 Chinese apps on Monday, including the popular TikTok and WeChat, citing national security and privacy concerns a few weeks after a deadly clash on the Himalayan border between the two nuclear powers.
These applications “engage in activities (…) prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India, the defense of India, the security of the State and public order” said the Ministry of Information Technology in a statement.
