A beetle could be the solution for people who are allergic to ragweed. The National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) is studying the occurrence of ragweed oil beetles in the country together with a Hungarian research group.

So far in Hungary only In Soroksár some specimens of the beetle were found last year. In Europe, it has so far only become established in greater numbers in northern Italy, where ragweed pollen production has been found to have fallen by thirty percent due to the presence of beetles.

According to allergist László Endre, those suffering from allergies are also more affected by the coronavirus.

During the pollen season, the coronavirus can penetrate our mucous membranes more easily. A little good is because if people use a face mask, most of the pollen can be filtered out with it.
