Márton Mesterházi, a translator, editor and literary historian who died in the 81st year of his life, also worked as a playwright for the Hungarian Radio for a long time. The news of his death was announced by his son on the community site.

Márton Mesterházi started his career as a student at the Anglo-American Institute of Eötvös Loránd University, where he studied Hungarian, English and French.

His half-century career as a radio playwright lasted until 2004. Márton Mesterházi taught the history of drama at Eötvös Loránd University from 1996 to 2005, and between 1997 and 2005 he led a literary translation seminar at the University of Debrecen.
