Incumbent Jóhannesson won presidential election in Iceland

Reykjavik – Icelandic President Gudni Jóhannesson has secured another term. The 52-year-old clearly prevailed against his only challenger Gudmundur Franklín Jónsson in the presidential election on the North Atlantic Island on Saturday. After counting a quarter of the ballot papers, Jóhannesson led the night of Sunday with more than 90 percent of the vote.
