Incibe and Uned collaborate to promote the culture of cyber security and the celebration of CyberCamp-Uned

LEN, 11 (PRESS EUROPE)

The National Institute of Information Security of Spain (Incibe) and the National University of Distance Education (Uned) have signed a collaboration agreement to promote the culture of information security. Through this agreement, CyberCamp-Uned will take place through the organization of different events and activities in Spain, within the funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union (Next Generation).

The general manager of Incibe, Flix Barrio, and the rector of Uned, Ricardo Mairal, signed the agreement, which will cover actions between 2023 and 2025 and which will promote the development of knowledge and skills of people and organizations in the IT security, Incibe sources report in a statement sent to Europa Press.

All this will be done through different courses, conferences, workshops, conferences and other activities of interest related to this topic, with the aim of encouraging the participants (general public and students) to develop their professional career or reorient it towards this sector. , as well as getting to know firsthand the great employability opportunities it offers.

VULNERABLE GROUPS

Specifically, among the main points of this agreement, an online course will be created capable of providing optimal training to subjects interested in the diffusion of cybersecurity, whose mission is to raise awareness among the most vulnerable groups (children, young people, parents, mothers, educators or elderly) and help them improve their digital security skills.

The activities will also aim to boost the recruitment of cybersecurity talent, given the “current shortage” of cybersecurity professionals globally. The analysis of the taxonomies of the most demanded professional profiles, carried out as part of the “Analysis and diagnosis of cybersecurity talents in Spain”, recently prepared by Incibe, shows the need to cover more than 83,000 jobs in the cybersecurity sector before 2024.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Maria Ords Villafae, Incibe Project Manager, Miguel Ángel Santed Germín, Vice-Rector for Continuing Education and University Extension of Uned and Rafael Pastor Vargas, Director of the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering (ETSI) of the Uned.
