During the past day, in the period from April 5 at 6.30 a.m. to April 6 at At 6.30, the Vidzeme regional administration of the State Fire and Rescue Service received five calls – all for rescue work.
Yesterday at 7.59 VUGD received a call to Pededzes parish of Alūksne county, where there was a traffic accident involving two buses, one person was trapped. Using hydraulic tools, firefighters freed the person and handed him over to the Emergency Medical Service medics. 7 other people were injured in the incident. at At 10.12, firefighters and rescuers finished the work at the scene.
at 13.13 firefighters and rescuers received a call to Annas street in Valmiera, where soot was burning in the chimney of a one-story residential house in an area of 4m². at At 14.16 the fire was extinguished.
In the past 24 hours, VUGD received a total of 42 calls throughout Latvia – 11 for firefighting, including one for firefighting, 19 for rescue work, but 12 calls were false.
