In Vannes, more than two projects are in the running for the Hangar at Nord-Gare – Vannes

New skimming was done for the Nord-Gare hangar in Vannes. Candidates received the response on Friday, November 12. Tren Lab and HangarT are now alone in the race. They will have to go before the commission again on Monday 22 November. The name of the future occupant of the premises will be officially revealed at the end of this last “test”.

“Nothing is won yet”

In the meantime, “nothing is won yet”, believes Ariane Guaita, one of the three carriers of HangarT. “We are very happy to have been selected, it’s super exciting. Now, we can prepare for the last big oral and the final choice will be up to the town hall ”. Jean-Baptiste Moreau, manager of the Tren Lab project, is also delighted. “We prepare the orals and we continue to refine the project, as well as the cultural prefiguration. We remain optimistic about the outcome, ”he says.

The other two projects, that of the collective La Boutique, carried in particular by two musicians, like that of the Archipelago, which imagined a place of artistic co-creation, were not selected. For Valentin Leveau, member of the La Boutique collective, two points could raise questions. “First, we were given to understand that our project was redundant with the existing offer,” he explains. On the other hand, the question of funding was a challenge. For us, it was no fun if the communities did not join the project. It was a point that could pose a problem ”.

“We believed in our project”

Mathieu Coignard, member of the Archipelago, is more surprised. “We believed in our project, especially since it seemed to appeal to the people of Vannes. We put all our heart into it and we devoted our time to it, ”he rewinds. Without being defeatist for all that. “The Hangar is not an end in itself and that will not cut off our wings. Opportunities, there will be others, ”he argues optimistically. He remains convinced: their project makes sense. “And we saw that it could meet needs in Vannes”.
