In three days of confirmation of the Asan boiler plant, 90 infected, 17 students including Songpa Moisture Academy students

The collective infection is spreading rapidly, with 90 cumulative confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) that occurred at the cricket boiler plant in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do.

According to Chungnam-do on the 16th, 90 people were confirmed in connection with the plant by 6 pm on the same day. It was three days after the first confirmed person came out on the 13th. As employees visited their hometown for the Lunar New Year, confirmed cases occurred nationwide, including Asan, Daegu, Chungnam, Chuncheon, Gangwon, and Gyeongsan. Chungnam-do Governor Yang Seung-jo said, “We found that more than 600 employees ate together, and the common changing rooms and baths were poorly ventilated,” and said, “The number of confirmed cases has not yet come out.”

The number of confirmed patients at Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Yongsan-gu, Seoul increased to 130. A city official said, “For hospitals where group infection occurred, we are considering imposing fines on those who violate the rules of wearing masks after checking the closed circuit (CC) TV.”

There were also 17 confirmed cases at a moisturizing academy in Songpa-gu, Seoul. On the 14th, after the student was first confirmed, the academy officials, students, and families of the confirmed patients were confirmed one after another. The quarantine authorities are conducting an epidemiological investigation, as it is believed to have spread through academy classes. In Busan, a series of infections occurred as confirmed patients went to two funeral homes. Only 30 confirmed cases were confirmed by this morning. It spread through New Year’s family gatherings and workplaces, and additional infections are also emerging in other areas such as Ulsan and Seoul. In a church in Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, 13 people were also confirmed. Jeollanam-do is expected to request an investigation, considering it has violated the non-face-to-face quarantine rules.
