In the north of Moravia and in Silesia, they are mitigating measures, with the exception of Frýdek-Místek

In the Bruntál region, no restrictions will apply at all, in other districts of the region it will be relaxed. An exception is the Frýdek-Místek district, where measures remain the most stringent within the region due to persistent infection. People here still have to wear veils on public transport and inside buildings. Hygienists still consider this district to be risky.

In other parts of the region, people no longer have to wear veils from noon on Friday. Also for the holding of public events in the entire Moravian-Silesian region, only national restrictions apply.

However, despite the relaxation of measures, the region still has to adhere to a stricter regime than in the rest of the republic. In the Novojičín, Ostrava, Opava and Karviná regions, medical facilities still insist on having a PCR test of not more than four days when admitting new patients. The same applies when accepting new clients in social facilities.

“In stores, their operators must always ensure regular disinfection of shopping baskets and trolleys, handrails, railings and handles. The prison service must ensure at least two-meter distances between prisoners, staff and visitors, “said Pavla Svrčinová, director of KHS Ostrava.

According to her, the measures in these districts could have been relaxed mainly because there was no community spread of the disease. “Nevertheless, there are still local outbreaks across the region except Bruntál. In the week from 6 to 12 August, we recorded a total of 266 new cases in the region, of which 115 fell on the entire region, the rest are infected in the Frýdek-Místek region, “said Svrčinová.

In the Frýdek-Místek district, therefore, the measures within the region are the strictest. In addition to the fact that they are not allowed to admit clients to medical and social facilities without a PCR test, there are also restrictions on recovery events, such as children’s camps, and on the operation of artificial swimming pools. There, the capacity must be adapted so that each visitor has ten square meters.

At present, the Frýdek-Místek district is one of the most affected, together with Prague, not only within the Moravian-Silesian Region, but also throughout the country. Hygienists deal with outbreaks here mainly in the Jablunkov region, where they are infected in the Gorol singing and dancing ensemble, in the Jablunkov Haberdashery, in the Guta Christian Camp or in the home for the elderly in Třinec and Jablunkov.
