In the Netherlands, catering and cultural establishments will be allowed to resume work

Prime Minister Mark Rite will only announce the new rules, but the media has a general deregulation plan.

Cultural institutions, as well as cafes and restaurants will be allowed to work until 10 pm, but customers must present a so-called Covid-19 passport. Spectators will be able to watch sporting events in person, including football matches.

About a week ago, shops, gyms, hairdressers and sports clubs were opened in the country, which had been closed since Christmas.

There was enormous public pressure to lift other restrictions. Both businessmen and cultural workers protested, and one of their arguments was the different policies in neighboring Germany and Belgium.

At the same time, the omicron variant of the Covid-19 virus continues to spread rapidly in the country. About 65,000 new infections have been confirmed in the last day.
