“In the last two weeks more cases than in the first six months”

“More cases have been recorded in the past two weeks than in the first six months of the pandemic.” This was underlined by the director general of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, in a briefing with journalists in Geneva, on the eve of the day when, a year ago, the WHO declared the public health emergency of international importance to cause of the coronavirus. “At that moment – he recalled – there were less than 100 cases of that disease we now call Covid-19, and no victims outside of China”.
