In several municipalities in southern Breisgau, the electricity failed on Tuesday – Bad Krozingen

There were two blackouts on Tuesday in several municipalities south of Freiburg. According to the responsible energy suppliers, the reasons were an accident and a defective cable.

Around 4.17 a.m., according to a press release from ED Netze GmbH, a cable defect in the Schulstraße – Talhauser Straße area in Eringen caused several other cable defects to occur due to earth faults. In addition to E brought in, these also affected the municipalities of Bollschweil, Ehrenkirchen, Schallstadt, Münstertal, Pfaffenweiler, Sölden and Wittnau and their districts.

According to the notification, the energy service standby service was on site in the affected areas within a short period of time and used the reliable measurement technology of the cable measuring vehicle to locate and locate the defective spots in the underground cables as quickly as possible. Switching technicians in the network control center gradually supplied the affected households with electricity by gradually switching over the intact lines. Around 8 a.m., all households were back on the network, and the repair work on the defective cables began on the same day, the energy supplier said.

On the same day, according to the Badenova company, a construction site vehicle had damaged an electricity pylon at the outskirts of Staufen in the direction of Wettelbrunn. As a result, the electricity in the Bad Krozingen district of Tunsel failed at around 11.30 a.m., also in some areas towards Staufen-Wettelbrunn. 20 minutes later, however, 14 out of 18 transformer stations were switched on again, the energy supplier said. The last station was reliably on the network shortly after 1 p.m. In the meantime, the affected areas were only temporarily on the network. The damage was finally repaired in the afternoon, which is why some households in Tunsel and Wettelbrunn were briefly without electricity again.

Bad Krozingen was also affected by the power failure due to a defective cable. The time of the triggering defect on the church tower clock could be traced in Eringen: it had stopped at around 4.15 a.m. According to Badenova, Bad Krozingen was back on the power grid at 5.16 a.m., followed by Pfaffenweiler at 7.30 a.m. and E brought in about an hour later. The Badenova subsidiary BN-Netze said it regretted that the two failures had caused inconvenience.
