A wave of polar cold, coming from the Arctic, crosses the United States. It should be very cold for the next few hours in the northeast of the country.
Pictures of postcards, a lake in Central Park, near the Gapstow Bridge, as well as fountains with jets were completely frozen in recent hours in New York. A polar cold wave crosses eastern North America, shaking the mercury. Freezing cold envelops the northeast of the country.
“An Arctic High is building across the Northern Plains, Great Lakes and Northeast through Saturday, bringing cold air,” the National Weather Service tweeted on Friday. Blowing winds with a feeling of -40 degrees Celsius are expected north of New York and in the heart of New England.

In recent days, freezing temperatures have hit eastern Canada and especially Quebec, where a record electricity consumption was recorded on Tuesday.
