Guests spent 201.8 thousand nights in tourist accommodation, which is 8.7% more than in October last year.

In 10 months of this year, 1.1 million foreign and local guests have been accommodated in tourist accommodation. It is 16.2% less than in the first 10 months of last year and 53.8% less than in the same period in 2019.

In October 2021, 55.9 thousand inhabitants of Latvia were served in tourist accommodation establishments, which is by 22.8% less than in October 2020. The number of nights spent by local residents was 104 thousand, which is a decrease of 23.8% compared to October last year.

The most popular accommodation places for Latvian residents were in Riga, where 30.1% of guests stayed, in Jurmala – 11.8%, in Liepaja – 7.8%, in Cesis region – 5.4%, in Sigulda region – 4.6%, in Daugavpils – 3, 5% and in Kuldiga region – 3%.

In October 2021, 48.1% or 51.9 thousand of all guests served in tourist accommodation establishments were foreign guests, which is 2.9 times more than in October 2020, however, it is by 64.2% less than in October 2019. before the pandemic.

Compared to October last year, the number of nights spent by foreign guests has doubled and was 97.8 thousand.

Most foreign guests were received from Germany (7.2 thousand), Lithuania (6.1 thousand), Estonia (5.5 thousand), the United Kingdom (3.8 thousand), and Russia (2.4 thousand). , Finland (2 thousand), the Netherlands (1.9 thousand) and Poland (1.8 thousand).

Most foreign guests were received in Riga – 84.6%, Jurmala – 4.1%, Liepaja – 2% and Sigulda region – 1.8%.
