In Lithuania and Estonia, 1,462 people were infected with Covid on Thursday, claiming the lives of 12 patients

Another 922 people were confirmed infected with the new coronavir in Lithuania last day, as well as ten new deaths with the virus-induced disease Covid-19 were registered, Statistics Lithuania announced on Friday.


17,061 analyzes were performed last day, and the proportion of positive tests was 5.4%. A total of 4,747,153 analyzes were performed in Lithuania.

Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 306,558 people have been diagnosed with the new coronavirus in the country.

A total of 4655 people died in Lithuania with Covid-19.

According to the data of the Department of Statistics, the 14-day cumulative number of infections per 100,000 population in Lithuania has increased to 349.4.

A total of 1,693,402 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Lithuania, including 1,560,457.

In Estonia, a further 540 people were found infected with the new coronavir virus last day, as well as two new deaths with the virus-related disease Covid-19, the Health Department said on Friday.

6446 analyzes were performed last day, thus the proportion of positive tests was 8.4%. A total of 1,802,563 tests have been performed in Estonia since the beginning of the pandemic to detect infection with the new coronavirus.

The total number of confirmed infections in Estonia has reached 145,885.

A total of 1309 people died in Estonia with Covid-19.

There are currently 150 Covid-19 patients in the hospitals.

The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population, calculated by the Estonian Department of Health, has risen to 391.28.
