These municipalities include the largest cities in Lithuania – Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipeda, as well as Kaunas, Prienai, Trakai, Moletai, Taurage, Kupiskis and Kaišadore districts.
According to the Minister’s opinion, the incidence rate in these ten municipalities exceeds the national average – 12.8 new infections in the last two weeks per 100,000 inhabitants.
The highest incidence rate – 45.6 cases – is in Kaunas district.
Covid-19 testing is being intensified in municipalities where a high risk of infection has been identified.
A total of 2,564 people were diagnosed with the new coronavirus in Lithuania. The hospitals are currently treating 60 infected people, eight of whom are in resuscitation or intensive care units, five people need artificial lung ventilation, and 22 people need oxygen masks. 1755 people have been confirmed to recover, according to data published by the National Center for Public Health (NVSC).
83 people died of the disease caused by the Covid-19 virus in Lithuania, but another 13 people infected with the virus had a different cause of death.
