In Île-de-France, no more health passes in shopping centers except in Seine-Saint-Denis

From Wednesday, the health pass will no longer be requested in shopping centers in the region, except in Seine-Saint-Denis which has an incidence rate close to 200 per 100,000 inhabitants.

The health pass will no longer be required at the entrance to large shopping centers of more than 20,000 m² in the Île-de-France. This decision was made due to “the drop in the incidence rate observed throughout the country”, according to a government statement.

However, Seine-Saint-Denis is an exception to this rule (like Var, Vaucluse, Alpes-Maritimes, Bouches-du-Rhône, Gard, Hérault, Corse-du-Sud and Rhône) . These departments show an incidence rate above 200 per 100,000 inhabitants (it is 194 in Seine-Saint-Denis). In the other Ile-de-France departments, there are 136 in Paris, 147 in Val-de-Marne, 139 in Hauts-de-Seine, 170 in Val d’Oise, 147 in Yvelines, 140 in Seine-et- Marne and 153 in Essonne.

“The Prime Minister decided that with (the Minister of Health) Olivier Véran we would sign the decree from Wednesday of this week”, said Bruno Le Maire on BFMTV and RMC this Sunday. Outside of shopping centers where it “I have an impact”, the health pass “protected the French economy, as did “the vaccination”, according to the minister.

Twelve shopping centers concerned in Seine-Saint-Denis

In Seine-Saint-Denis, 12 shopping centers are concerned: Le Millénaire (Aubervilliers), O’Parinor (Aulnay-sous-Bois), Bel Est (Bagnolet), Bel Air (Blanc-Mesnil), Avenir (Drancy), L ‘Ilo (Épinay-sur-Seine), La Grande Porte (Montreuil), Les Arcades (Noisy-le-Grand), Domus (Rosny-sous-Bois), Westfield Rosny II (Rosny-sous-Bois), Carrefour (Stains ) and Bienvenu (Villetaneuse).

Across the country, the number of shopping centers of more than 20,000 m² subject to the obligation of the health pass will drop from 178 to 64 as of Wednesday.

In Île-de-France, numerous appeals have been filed against these decrees imposing the health pass in large shopping centers. Administrative justice suspended them in Yvelines, Essonne and Hauts-de-Seine. On the other hand, it kept them in Paris and in the Val-d’Oise. The Council of State will examine the validity of these decrees on Wednesday September 8.
