Today, June 6, Ukraine celebrates a holiday dedicated to all media workers.
The holiday dedicated to journalism was established by a decree of Leonid Kuchma in 1994, shortly after gaining independence. On June 6, 1992, in Brussels, the Union of Journalists of Ukraine was admitted to the International Federation of Journalists. In honor of this event, on this day, journalists annually celebrate their holiday.
Journalist’s Day is not a day off unless it falls on Saturday or Sunday.
