In Estonia, Covid-19 certificates will be mandatory at all events / Article

In Estonia, in September, Covid-19 certificates will be mandatory at all public events, regardless of the number of participants. Such a government plan has been announced by Health Minister Tanel Kik.

Currently, without presenting a Covid-19 certificate, up to 50 people can participate in indoor events in Estonia, and up to 100 people in the open air. However, the Estonian Department of Health said on Wednesday that 50 outbreaks of the disease have been identified in the country, half of which are related to public entertainment events, as well as gatherings at summer camps, weddings, birthday parties and elsewhere.

CONTEXT:

According to the latest data, the coronavirus is currently spreading the fastest in the Baltic States. The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population has increased to 270, while in Latvia this indicator is 72.

Statistics compiled by the Estonian Institute for Health Development show that in the first half of this year in Estonia with Covid-19 more than 1,000 people have died, which is five times more than in the whole of 2020.
