Transfusion of blood plasma from recovered people increases the chances of a cure for severe Covid-19 events. The method is now being tested at many university hospitals.
Anyone who has gone through the infection with the novel corona virus forms antibodies against the pathogen and is – at least for a while – immune. The defenses of others are now said to help seriously ill Covid 19 patients in Germany and Switzerland. Several clinics in Germany are currently looking for recovered corona patients who donate blood plasma to treat the seriously ill.
The hope: a shortening of the course of the disease
