Mexico closes epidemiological week number 22, with a daily average of 3,179 infections and two deaths from COVID-19, the Ministry of Health announced, through the Technical Report.
Throughout this week, which includes May 29 to June 4, the availability of general beds and those with mechanical ventilators has remained at 97 and 99 percent, respectively.
The agency reiterates that vaccination is the most important measure to reduce the risk of presenting a serious condition or dying from COVID-19, so it invites people 12 years of age and older who have not started or completed the scheme, as well as those over 18 years of age who have not received the booster to come to be immunized.
In addition to vaccination, it is necessary to maintain basic prevention measures: use of face masks where necessary and in accordance with the measures established in each locality; as well as healthy distance, frequent hand washing with soap and water or application of alcohol-gel and ventilation of spaces.
The population is recommended to heed the indications of their local and state authorities regarding sanitary measures. In case of presenting symptoms of COVID-19, the person must be isolated for at least seven days and be aware of the evolution of the disease.
