Illegality on most tour buses; 67 cases today, 87,000 rupees in fines – Tourist bus control Operation Focus Three | Road accident | MVD

Kochi ∙ The Motor Vehicle Department says most of the tour buses in the state are breaking the law. 63 cases have been registered so far in the inspection conducted on Saturday by the Motor Vehicle Department in various parts. A fine of Rs 87,000 was imposed in the Focus Three operation.

Irregularities such as illegal modifications, manipulation of the cruise control, illegal installation of horns, lights, stereo systems etc. were found in most of the buses. Inspections were conducted in various parts of the state, including Kozhikode Thamarasery, Thiruvananthapuram Museum Junction, and Idukki.

Most of the vehicles inspected were illegally equipped with horns and lights. Vehicles caught breaking the law for the first time will only have to pay a fine. The inspection will continue in the coming days. Night inspections will also be strengthened. The auto department had taken action against 134 buses following the Vadakancheri accident.
