From November 10 to 13, 2023, the III Villavicencio Film Festival – Crisola meeting around audiovisual arts that was created by the Municipal Cultural Corporation of Villavicencio – CORCUMVI in order to establish contact between regions and industry.
Currently, Crisol is an event of great importance in the audiovisual culture of Villavicencio, which is projected as one of the most relevant in the region and as a national reference for lovers of the seventh art.
“The third version of the Crisol Film Festival celebrates cultural diversity and plurality of visions by providing a space for the general public and creators to appreciate audiovisual art and understand the different knowledge, cultures, languages, genres and perspectives of Colombia and the world in ‘a meeting of cultures on screen,'” the organization said.
The host city, Villavicencio, is presented as a melting pot of cultural influences, territories, winds and waters where voices and views from different origins converge; Therefore, it is a crossroads of stories that aims to be shown on the screens.
The Villavicencio Film Festival, organized together with the city’s audiovisual sector, and institutionalized through Municipal Agreement 556 of 2022, will bring in its third version a celebration of cultural diversity and the plurality of visions in local and national cinema. and even international.
According to the organization, this meeting provides a space for the general public and creators to appreciate audiovisual art, and thus understand the different knowledge, cultures, languages, genres and perspectives of Colombia and the world in “a meeting of cultures.” onscreen”.
Competitive categories and special samples of the Crisol Film Festival
In its third version, the Crisol Film Festival warmly welcomes filmmakers, creators, filmmakers, directors, producers and artists from the audiovisual ecosystem, and will have competitive categories and special exhibitions.

Local category, made up of productions made in the city of Villavicencio. The works made with CORCUMVI creation stimuli are directly part of this selection.
Regional categorymade up of a selection of short and feature films made in the Orinoquia.
National categorymade up of a selection of short and feature films made in Colombia.
Music video categorymade up of video clips made in the city of Villavicencio and the department of Meta.
The selected short films had to have a minimum duration of 7 maximum 69 minutes, according to Colombian legislation, and productions completed from 2017 onwards, in Spanish or other languages with Spanish subtitles, were allowed to be submitted to the selection.
The selected short films will be an official part of the Crisol Festival and will be presented in theaters, auditoriums, special exhibitions and/or projections in open spaces intended for the development of the Festival. In addition, the winners will be part of the CORCUMVI audiovisual archive, and will be used for samples. cultural, educational, non-profit research, training and didactic activities.
