Since the beginning of the World Tournament League Tennis in Dubai Iga¦wi±tek (1. WTA) showed a high disposition. The Pole plays in the “Kania” team and has won all three so far matches. First she defeated Caroline Garcia (4th WTA) 6:3, 6:4. then Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-4, 6-3 (368th WTA), then Aryna Sabalenka (5th WTA) 6-1, 6-3. Thanks to this, her team advanced to the final.

Iga Świątek lost to Jelena Rybakina and ended her participation in the World Tennis League

In it, “Kanie” faced the team of “Jastrzębi”. The first to take the field were Świątek and Jelena Rybakina (21st WTA), who replaced Pawlyuchenkova (she will play in mixed doubles). Kazaszka started very well game, already in the second game he scored a break point, thanks to which he was leading 3-0 shortly after. Then the Polish woman repeated her feat and thus led to the score 3:3. The eighth game turned out to be decisive, in which Rybakina broke Świątek and took the lead 5:3. In the next she defended three break points and after a while sealed the win in the set 6: 3.

The Kazakh tennis player continued her winning streak in the second set, where she won the first two games without losing a point. In the fifth game, she broke Świątek again, thanks to which she was leading 4: 1. In the seventh she scored a fifth break point in this match, thanks to which she won 6-1 in the second set.

Two more matches of the World Tennis League will be played on Saturday, which will determine the best team in the tournament. First Felix Auger-Aliassime (“Kanie”) will play against Alexander Zverev (“Hawks”), and later in mixed doubles, Sania Mirza and Holger Rune (“Kanie”) will face Anastazija Pawlyuchenkova and Dominik Thiem (“Hawks” ). The team with the most match wins after three games wins.
